A Historic UK–Europe Clean Energy Pact for the North Sea

The United Kingdom and European partners have made a significant step toward clean energy by signing an agreement focused on the North Sea. More than a political gesture, this pact acknowledges that the energy transition demands coordination, trust, and long-term cooperation are not individual country efforts.

Offshore wind is central to the agreement. The countries aim to jointly develop up to 100 gigawatts of offshore wind in the North Sea by 2050, enough to power tens of millions of homes.
