The week from 4th to 8th May 2026 saw a return of strength for the EUA DEC26 contract, with the market quickly recovering ground after the sideways phase observed in recent weeks. Over the period under review, the EUA DEC26 gained 1,68%. After a weak start to Monday’s session, prices accelerated higher between Tuesday and Wednesday, moving steadily back above 75,00/ton and reaching a weekly high of €77,11/ton during Wednesday’s session, 6th May. Higher trading volumes accompanied the move, signalling renewed bullish interest from market participants. In the second half of the week, the market entered a natural consolidation phase, with prices stabilising slightly above €75,00/ton and volatility gradually declining. Despite some profit-taking, quotations managed to retain most of the gains accumulated during the first half of the week, indicating a more constructive technical structure compared with previous weeks. From a technical perspective, the €75,00/ton area now emerged as the first short-term support, while a sustained break above the €77,00–78,00/ton range represented the key signal needed to confirm a broader bullish extension in the near term.
The week from 11th to 15th May 2026 saw the EUA DEC26 market in a consolidation phase, following the strong recovery observed the previous week. Every week, the appreciation was modest, amounting to 0,56%. The period opened with a strong bullish acceleration, which pushed the contract to a weekly high of €77,45/ton during Monday’s session, before gradually losing momentum over the following days. From Tuesday onwards, the market adopted a more cautious tone, with profit-taking pushing prices back toward the €75,00/ton area. Despite retreating from the highs reached at the beginning of the week, prices later found a degree of stability, fluctuating within a relatively narrow range between €74,50/ton and €76,00/ton, alongside gradually declining volumes. Overall, the ability to hold above €75,00/ton represented a sign of resilience in the bullish structure built over previous weeks. However, to reactivate positive momentum, a sustained move back above €77,00/ton was necessary, while on the downside, the first support remained identified in the €74,00–75,00/ton area.
The week from 18th to 22nd May 2026 saw the EUA DEC26 market move largely sideways, although sentiment improved towards the end of the period under review. As of yesterday’s close, the contract posted a 1,52% gain. Following a cautious start and several uneventful sessions around the €75,00/ton area, prices moved within a relatively narrow range, initially struggling to establish a clear direction. Between Tuesday and Thursday, the market showed signs of weakness, with repeated tests of the €74,50–75,00/ton range, though it failed to break short-term support levels convincingly. The turning point came during Friday’s session, when a bullish acceleration pushed the contract to a weekly high of €77,17/ton, allowing prices to close at the week’s highest level.
Monday 25th May then showed a mild consolidation following Friday’s rally, with prices remaining firmly above €76,50/ton and trading volumes particularly subdued. Overall, the technical outlook appeared moderately constructive: holding above €75,00/ton continued to signal market stability, while a sustained consolidation above €77,00/ton could pave the way for further bullish extensions in the short term.
The week from 25th to 29th May 2026 saw a progressive strengthening of the EUA DEC26 contract, with the market extending the bullish movement that had already begun in the latter part of May. After a stable start above €76,00/ton, prices recorded an almost continuous upward trajectory throughout the week, accompanied by relatively contained volatility. Thursday’s session marked the key turning point, with prices breaking above the €80,00/ton threshold and reaching a new weekly high of €80,39/ton, signalling a return of clearly positive market sentiment. On Friday, the market retained most of its gains, closing at €80,63/ton, the week’s highest closing level. From a technical perspective, the sustained move back above €80,00/ton was a constructive signal, suggesting an improvement in the short-term market structure. The €78,00–79,00/ton range has now been confirmed as the first support area, while sustained consolidation above €80,00/ton is crucial to sustain further bullish extensions in the near term.
