The Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) is a pioneering global initiative established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to mitigate CO₂ emissions from international aviation. As the first sector-specific, market-based measure, CORSIA aims to achieve carbon-neutral growth in aviation from 2020 onwards.
Airlines are required to monitor, report, and verify their CO₂ emissions annually. CORSIA Phase 1 emissions exceeding 85% of 2019 baseline must be offset through the purchase of CORSIA-eligible emission units or the use of sustainable aviation fuels that meet CORSIA criteria.
Implementing robust systems to accurately track and report emissions.
Guiding the procurement of eligible emission units and sustainable fuels.
Providing insights into evolving CORSIA requirements and ensuring adherence to international standards.

Identifying and vetting high-quality carbon offset projects aligned with CORSIA standards.

Developing and managing a diversified portfolio of offset investments.

Measuring and reporting the environmental and social impacts of voluntary offset initiatives.
